120 Hiking Trails in Bucegi Mountains

Bucegi Mountains

The Bucegi Mountains are located in the center of Romania, south of Brasov. They are part of the group of the Southern Carpathians in the Carpathian Mountains. Peak Omu, at 2,505 m, is the highest point of the Bucegi Mountains.

To the east, they have a very steep slope to popular tourist destinations in the Prahova Valley, such as Busteni and Sinaia. At a higher altitude is the Bucegi Plateau, where the wind and rain have transformed the rocks into spectacular figures such as the Sphinx and the Babele.
