Sri Lanka vs Bali

Two beautiful islands. Which one would you choose?

Sri Lanka vs Bali

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is an island nation in southern India, in the Indian Ocean. It offers diverse landscapes from tropical rainforests and tea fields to beaches. Sri Lanka also has 103 rivers that created 51 waterfalls. The tallest is the Bambarakanda Waterfall 263 m height.

Bali

Bali is a Indonesia province, located at East of Java and West of Lombok. This province includes the island of Bali and several other smaller islands, the most notable being: Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. The highest point in Bali is Mount Agung (3031 m), known as “mother mountain” and is an active volcano.

Best Time to visit

If you want to visit the west and south of the island, from December to March is the best time. If you plan to head to the east coast, the best period is April to September. The best months to visit Bali are: April, May, June and September, when it is not the peak of the season. And it’s an excellent weather, being the dry season. The peak season is in July-August, Easter and Christmas / New Year.

Culture Sri Lanka vs Bali

Sri Lanka combines modern and traditional elements. Culture, as expected, has been greatly influenced by India, especially Buddhism. The most religious areas are in the south and the center of the island. A mixture of Hindu and Buddhism combined with Balinese customs, is what Bali could be best describe. But the most famous are the dramatic dances and sculptures.

Top 3 Attractions

Three tourist attractions are not enough to describe this to islands, but we will try to summarize as well as possible.

National parks where you can admire elephants, crocodiles, and if you are lucky leopards, all within an organized safari.

Train rides that offer incredible views: sugar, tea field and waterfalls.

The southern coast offers white sandy beaches and palm trees, perfect for swimming, surfing, diving, and most importantly to admire turtles.

With over 10,000 temples, you meet at least one on each street, and all are incredible beautiful.

Incredible beaches, mostly creamy-gray. In the west they are perfect for surfing, and in the eastern part, perfect for snorkeling.

Beautiful rice terraces, among which you can walk around for hours or just admire tasting the world’s most expensive coffee, Kopi Luwak.
