God’s Bridge

God’s Bridge is in the center of the town Ponoare, one hour away from Drobeta. It is the only natural bridge on which you can drive on, having a length of 30 m and a height of 22 m.

The road to these gorges is a real challenge. Especially that the road that goes to Cerna Village is completely unpaved and we have made one hour only on this part. From Drobeta there are 88 km. We know that the Corcoaia Gorges are short (200m), but they are so spectacular. So it’s questionable if the trip here is worth 10 minutes of visiting, but maybe the picture below will convince you. 😊

Bigar Waterfall

The Bigar Waterfall is located 117 km from Drobeta Turnu-Severin, halfway between Anina and Bozovici towns, on DN57B road. The waterfall is not very well marked on the road. Yet it’s a parking lot nearby a few meters from the waterfall that it’s more visible.

When you reach the waterfall, you will find a set of steps that will lead you to the waterfall. And to the left of the waterfall is the entrance to the National Park Nerei-Breusnita Gorges.

The way the water flows through the powerful green color of the muscles gives the Bigar Waterfall a peaceful and magical vibe. You almost expect to see fairies dancing among the drops of water.

Important! Unfortunately, due to natural causes, this waterfall was destroyed.

Lake Ochiul Bei

The clarity and color of the water make you unable to take your eyes off the little lake, which is why we spent a lot admiring it.

To get here, there are 2 ways. An 8-hour trail. Or a lazy way: by car to Fishery in the Bei Valley and an hour-long trail to the lake. We chose the 2nd option 😊) just for the reason that we wanted to visit more and we were pressured by time. And to get here, the road from Drobeta Turnu-Severin is quite long, 180 km (about 4 hours).

Beusnita Waterfall

The Beusnita Waterfall is on the same trail that brings you to Ochiul Bei, only 15 more minutes to go. This waterfall should be as beautiful as the Bigar Waterfall, if not even more spectacular. But the pictures we saw on the net did not match the reality because we visited in the drier season. Instead, we were able to admire a small cave whose entrance would have been covered by the waters of the waterfall.
