The visa for Indonesia has been one of the easiest visas we’ve got in Asia. Besides giving you access to a wonderful country, this visa is obtained quickly, without stress and, most importantly, it is free. Now that we have settled these things, let’s tell you what we have done to enter Indonesia.

Our destination in Indonesia was Bali. So we landed and took off from Ngurah Rai International Airport (Denpasar), in Bali. This airport is part of the (fairly long) series of border checkpoints where you can get a visa when arriving in the country. Our stay in Bali and, respectively, in Indonesia was 28 days, which helped us a lot.

Indonesia offers several countries the possibility to obtain a free visa when entering the country. This visa is for only one entry and is valid for 30 days without the possibility of a further extension. Wanting to stay for only 28 days in this country, so it was perfect for us. We did not pay anything for the visa, and the whole visa process lasted for 3 or 5 minutes. We stayed longer at security queues to enter into the country.

We’ve seen in the airport and then we’ve checked online, that there is the possibility to pay for the visa in case you want to stay for more than 30 days. At the entrance of the country, you pay the amount of $ 35 or the equivalent in Indonesian Rupee, and you receive a valid visa for 30 days, but it offers the possibility to be extended by another 30 days, reaching a total of 60. To prolong the visa period, you will have to go to an immigration office and make a request.

To obtain the visa for Indonesia, you must have your passport valid for at least 6 months, so make sure everything is ok because the plane tickets can be pretty expensive.
