The Russian Federation has decided to suspend the visa tax on arrival in the Leningrad area in the following period. The area that includes the city of Saint Petersburg.
The Russian Federation is divided into several regions. So if you also want to visit Moscow you will need a visa.
If you want to obtain a visa for Rusia you can get it from Russian embassies or consulates in your country. In Romania, we have a consulate in Constanta that deals with visas. But, all these aren’t necessary anymore, if you want to visit the city of Saint Petersburg and/or the Leningrad region. Starting with October 1, 2019, the citizens from 54 countries can obtain an electronic visa. This is very beneficial for those who do not have time to go to the consulate and worry about whether or not they will receive the visa.
The electronic visa is only valid for air, naval, car and pedestrian control points located in the territory of Saint Petersburg and in the Leningrad region.
If you want to get in or out of the region by train, then you will have a problem because currently, the electronic visa is not valid.
Your e-visa for Saint Petersburg will be issued in 4 days (the weekend days are included). So, do not wait until the last day to obtain your visa.
