Last year we spent our Winter Holidays in Bali, in one of the most popular destinations/islands in the world. We stayed in Bali for almost a month and you can see our itinerary here. In this blog post, we will be describing how we spend our Winter Holidays in Bali.

What is the weather like in Bali from winter holidays?

The weather in Bali for Christmas is the peak of the wet season. Being in the rainy season you will have chance of rain of 35%, so it’s raining almost daily, but for short periods. The weather stays warm (cold for the locals) being on average 27 degrees Celsius. We can say that for us it was an ideal temperature, in which we felt comfortable.

What did we do for Christmas in Bali?

We celebrated Christmas on a rainy day and didn’t get the chance to stay too long at the beach. 🙂

But, in addition to the beach, which can be quite delighting, you can also explore the island. You can visit unique and beautiful waterfalls, you can visit temples or you can just go to the mall. Anything you chose to do you will see Christmasy decor anywhere you go.

We chose the last option, and when we left the Kuta Beach we crossed the street and entered the mall. We did a small shopping session and then we enjoyed a movie. Would you do this on Christmas day? 🎅

What did we do for New Year’s Eve in Bali?

New Year’s Eve in Bali was one of the most beautiful we have ever had. 🥳 If you want to go to clubs or restaurants, you have plenty of options to choose from, especially if you stay in the Seminyak area. From restaurants with a view to the ocean, to have dinner at small local restaurants.

We didn’t want to have a classic New Year’s Eve party in a club/restaurant, so we decided to spend the night on the beach. And it turned out that we weren’t the only people having this idea. So the beach was packed full, from locals to tourists, everyone was on the beach and waiting for the big moment. Almost everyone had fireworks in their hands. So, we had a wonderful show, but it was also a little dangerous because a lot of people consumed alcohol and they didn’t appear skilled with the lighting of fireworks.

This New Year’s Eve on the beach in Bali was a very successful one for us. We saw the whole beach light up with fireworks.

Is it worth going to Bali for the Winter Holidays?

If you have the opportunity and want to have a special Christmas or New Year’s Eve, then Bali can be a very good option. The island offers you everything you need from wide beaches, exotic forests with hidden waterfalls, rice fields and 5-star resorts.

Fur sure you will find the perfect way to celebrate. We chose to relax for Christmas and New Year’s Eve and To stay on the beach and enjoy ourselves with locals and tourists, although we could as well go to a restaurant. Bali is for everyone and we had a great time.
